If you choose to climb to the upper deck to enjoy the fresh air, you can do that too. This boat ride is not for those who suffer from motion sickness. Please take something before the excursion if you are prone to getting queasy.

Next, you may choose to go into the sauna or the steam room or the salt room or the snow room. Very comfortable regular lounge chairs are present for sitting up to read a book. The refreshment stations have hot water, cold water, tea, a tank of water with orange slices, fresh oranges, and an assortment of teas.

Norwegian Bliss

Expect the cabin steward to unplug if you forget. The Norwegian Prima deck plan is loaded with places and features to keep every passenger busy and happy. Rather than massive spaces, Norwegian Prima has multiple small spaces designed to feel more intimate. While the ship was refurbished in 2016, the cabins were left mostly untouched. Even though they feel a little dated, the staterooms are extremely clean and well-maintained considering they’re mostly original materials and fixtures.

Review of NCL Escape (February 26-March 5,

The good news is that Norwegian Dawn has a relaxed dress code for most of the public areas of the ship, allowing guests to enjoy their holiday in comfort, in line with their “Freestyle” Branding. However, Le Bistro does have a policy that includes no shorts, torn jeans, flip flops. Here, smart casual attire is required for dinner, which means that guests should wear items such as trousers or skirts with a collared shirt or blouse. It’s not necessary to wear a jacket or tie, but it’s always a good idea to dress up a little.

Nice for when someone wants to sleep and the other wants to stay up reading. If you didn’t know already, the walls are magnetic, and I brought magnetized hooks to put on the walls. Super handy for hanging hats or damp bathing suits or anything else you might need to access quickly. Remember to push down your card so you will have power. Also, make sure you indicate a Do Not Disturb or Makeup Room choice so your cabin steward can keep up the room.

Night Eastern Caribbean - MiamiDetails

It’s worth mentioning that these aren’t necessarily BAD Cabins, they just may have some noise from above. The entertainment is average, with live shows, solo musicians, comedy acts, and dancing in the Bliss Lounge to keep you entertained throughout the evening.

On our cruise last month wife and I both decided to order the filet. This was billed as an off-road adventure of 45 minutes, leading to Coconut Cove Beach. We met in the Escape theatre and received guidance from there.

Fellow Passengers

With so much going on, the ship can -- and does -- get loud. Crowds, too, are noticeable, especially at peak periods around dinner and at show times, when everyone is clamoring for the same things at the same time. Norwegian Prima's modern, sophisticated cabins are a cut above what you'll find on the cruise line's other ships. At 3,099 passengers, it's blissfully smaller than the 4,000-guest ships of Norwegians' preceding Breakaway and Breakaway-Plus classes. This, along with a smart design that puts all the fun stuff in the middle of the ship, makes it easy to navigate; you'll learn your way around the ship by Day 2. For kids, there’s a small “water park” known as the T-Rex Pool.

The hull art, designed by artist and conservationist Guy Harvey, is a bold yet beautiful, in-your-face marine wildlife scene that spans more than 1,000 feet from bow to stern. Once onboard, you'll be captivated by the glitzy three-level 678 Ocean Place; virtually all the action at night takes place at its various restaurants and bars. Even the top decks of the ship are bold, with a ropes course and four water slides that are sure to make your heart race. These “Mini-suites” are similar in layout to balcony cabins but are more spacious, measuring about 230 square feet with a 54-square-foot veranda. They upgrade to shower-tub combos and queen-sized pullout sofas.

We have sailed from NOLA three times and have found it for the most part a disorganized mess. This was not an All Inclusive so make sure you bring a credit card or cash. I snapped pictures of the food menu and the drink menu and beaches, but I can't figure out how to upload here. Food ranges from French Fries for $6 all the way up to Double Cheeseburger - $16. Years ago, these cabins on smaller ships were called Mini-Suites, and they had a curtain you could use to separate the beds from the couch area.

We really loved the larger bathroom in this Club Balcony that contained a bathtub. I note this cabin number in case someone is looking for a tub/shower combination. Electrical outlets and USB outlets are located across from the couch at the desk/vanity area. I brought a 12-foot extension cord and a cruise approved power strip so I could power a little fan by my bed. Most of you probably know not to leave things plugged in while you’re out of the cabin.

I would note that the walk to the safari-like buses is pretty long, probably 2 miles. Pam’s watch registered over 4 miles of steps at the end of the day. Our open-air bus was the last one in line so it might be less for other travelers. We climbed on and discovered that the aisle is extremely narrow.

Don't be surprised if you see people in shorts in the main dining rooms. When it comes to variety of activities, Escape is a winner. With 28 bars and restaurants onboard, most people will have to sail twice to try out everything. Everyone will be able to find something that appeals. An incredible brew pub that feels so genuine you'll forget you're on a ship?

There's also an always-busy casino, which opens when the ship is out to sea. @rjm11 I was on the cruise and someone not on the cruise, on CruiseCritic.com said the ship was going to tender at two ports. I was not happy because tendering is so uncomfortable. The fact was, the ship docked at every port and the person who said that was incorrect. We are on this same cruise in April- and two were initially listed that way, but our booking confirmation states "docked"- just curious what you did.

It’s in the rear of the ship on deck 13 making it a little difficult to find. Having it separate from the main pool is pretty smart, keeping kids occupied in a different wet area. Furthermore, Cruise Critic makes no guarantees for availability of prices advertised on our site.

There are four Owner’s Suites on Deck 12 forward, measuring 667 to 732 square feet. These suites may be large BUT, they do not have balconies! This may not bother some people, but many travelers that pay for a “suite” experience, will likely want a balcony. Each suite can sleep four people with a pullout sofa. The bedroom has a vanity table, a closet (not walk-in), and a second TV.
